After honing his skills in various kitchens and climbing the ranks in the food industry, Joe decided to embark on an entrepreneurial venture. Joe Acosta's passion for culinary arts began at an early age. After graduating high school, he pursued higher education, initially studying business administration. However, his love for cooking led him to enroll in culinary school, where he honed his skills in international cuisine with a particular focus on Colombian culture.
Culinary Career
Upon completing his culinary education, Joe began his career in the food industry, working in various kitchens where he gained valuable experience in restaurant operations and menu development. His dedication and talent allowed him to rise through the ranks, eventually taking on leadership positions.
Exploring Colombian Gastronomy
Colombian gastronomy is as diverse as its landscapes, with each region showcasing unique flavors and ingredients. Joe deeply appreciates the country's culinary heritage, which includes well-known dishes such as arepas (corn cakes), bandeja paisa (a hearty platter featuring meats, beans, rice, and plantains), and sancocho (a traditional soup made with meat and root vegetables).
He also emphasizes the significance of Colombia's regional specialties, such as ajiaco from Bogotá, a comforting chicken and potato soup; cuy from the Andean regions; and coastal delights like ceviche from the Pacific and Caribbean coasts. In his cooking, Joe often incorporates fresh, local ingredients such as aji (hot peppers), coconut, and exotic fruits like lulo and guanábana, showcasing the vibrant flavors that define Colombian cuisine.
